Govandi Arts Festival is a celebration of arts and culture that thrive in marginalised neighbourhoods through sustained creative interventions in the form of mentoring programs, artist’s residencies, and art processions, culminating into a parallel community led arts festival in Mumbai, India with digital projections in Bristol, UK.
Govandi Arts festival is part of the ‘India/UK Together, a Season of Culture’, taking place in India and the UK from June 2022 to March 2023. The Season celebrates and strengthens the bilateral relationship, friendship and vibrant cultural bonds between the two countries and also marks India’s 75th anniversary.
It is brought together by Community Design Agency (India), Streets Reimagined (UK) and Lamplighter Arts CIC (UK) who bring their shared practice of using arts to inspire placemaking and bring diverse communities together.
